Ibiza Spain 2014 Yacht in Port

Ibiza, Spain – Days 17 & 18

Today was another crazy day filled with partying. I went to both Space and Heart opening parties, saw a good friend break up with his girlfriend and then missed my flight.

It all worked out, though, because I had a great experience and met new people because I missed the flight. I ended up learning a few new card games and going out for a night on the town with some Canadians I met.

Day 17 – Ibiza

After waking up at Eugene’s beachfront flat I made them all breakfast and headed to my hotel for a few hours of sleep before the next 2 opening parties. I ended up sleeping most of the day and thought I missed the Space opening party. Apparently it went till 7am, but I thought it closed at 2am and hit up Eugene. He was at the opening party for HEART (partly run by owner of Cirque du soleil) and I went to meet up with them. I didn’t care for the music, but the atmosphere was pretty sweet. Eugene ended up flirting with a blonde most of the night and his GF didn’t care for that too much. When they brought the bill for the VIP table it was $6k. The people that purchased the table were really not happy and Eugene said he would take care of it. Those people ended up taking off and Eugene talked the manager down to $1.7K and paid the bill himself.

When we left, he and the GF ended up getting into a fight over the blonde and breaking up in the front of the club. Eugene was very unhappy that she did it in front of his friends (aptly dubbed the Kings and queens of Ibiza as half of them were in drag and they were the local club elites. Think Party Monster…). She wouldn’t give him they keys to his flat since her stuff was there, so we all had a race to the house. We got there second and found the front door of the complex shattered with a bottle of alcohol. They officially finished breaking up after I had already left and I met up with her and her friends afterward.

We then went to another clubs opening party and her friend Luigi was able to get me in for free. The music and party were great, but it was so late in the morning and I was very tired. I said my goodbyes and went back to my hotel. By that time I had already missed my flight and had to buy a 3rd ticket back to Barcelona as well as another hotel because apparently everyone in Ibiza missed their flight and all trips out were booked until noon the next day. Ibiza ended up being super expensive!!!

Day 18 – Ibiza

I took the bus back to town and stayed at hostel Giramundo because it was the cheapest place still available and it ended up being one of the best nights ever! I was planning on sleeping all day until my flight the following day, but could only sleep for 5 hours. I woke up to another guy chilling in the room with nothing but a super tiny towel on. His name was Daniel and we started talking for a while. Apparently his GF locked him out of the bathroom so he was stuck like that for a good 10 minutes. I started pulling up GoT to watch, but then they invited me to play a game called 31. It’s a lot like blackjack, but with more cards. Then we decided to play a drinking game called Pyramid and wow does it get you drunk! We were all totally wasted at the end and went to the beach to get some dinner.

I had a steak and they ordered burgers. We had a great time and went back to the hostel where we met the other residents. They were all on their way to a beachfront restaurant and then a bar, so since we just ate there we said we would meet them at the bar. We had a few drinks and got to hang out with everyone. I was wearing my SpongeBob pajamas (with SpongeBob and Patrick riding cats in space), an Egyptian tunic decked out in gold hieroglyphics, and a shemagh on my head so a fashion designer asked to do a photo shoot. After that we all went to bed because we had to get up early in the morning.

See the many uses of a shemagh HERE!!!
